Application & Program Costs: Summer 2008 Application Instructions & Policies
How to Apply: Summer 2008

Student applications are processed once the following items are received:
1) Official transcript from your current school;
2) Payment of program deposit and fees;
3) Payment of Security Deposit (if requesting housing)

Students must be 18 years of age and have a GPA of 2.8 or higher. Acceptance is awarded on a rolling basis and according to space availability, regardless of deadline date. We recommend that students apply well before the application deadline. Late applications are considered on a space-available basis and must include payment of late payment fee. All payments must be received IN FULL by payment deadlines (see below) or your course registration will be placed on hold until full payment is received. All late payments will incur a late payment penalty fee.

Financial Aid
Financial aid students are required to pay all applicable fees, a program deposit (see cost page) and Security Deposit (if applicable) with their application. A financial aid award letter must be sent to the SAI California office in order to delay the balance of program cost and in order for an application to be considered complete. If a financial award is not sufficient to cover the full program cost, the balance must be paid by the regular payment deadline date. If financial aid will be processed through Fairfield University, all questions regarding payment should be directed to SAI California.

Payment
Costs may be combined in one check, payable to Study Abroad Italy, and sent to SAI California. All payments, including wire transfers, must list the applicant's name. A copy of the wiring instructions you send to your bank must be faxed to our office before we can process your application. If you are enrolling for more than one term, you must pay fees and deposits for ALL terms at the time of application. A separate Security Deposit must be paid for each term (refundable at the end of that term). The balance of the program cost is due on the deadline date below. SAI California will mail one billing statement, which will include due dates, to your permanent mailing address. For information on making a payment by credit card please contact SAI California directly.

Students not meeting any payment deadline will be charged a $145 late payment penalty, and their course registration will be placed on hold until the balance is paid in full. Housing requests may be cancelled by SAI California if payments are not received by the due date.

NOTE: Costs may be subject to change due to fluctuation of the euro/dollar exchange rate.

Wiring Instructions: For Bank Wire Transfers, please contact our California office at (800) 655 - 8965 for instructions.

Housing
Housing assignments are sent through the U.S. Postal Service and by email at least 2 weeks before the term begins. Final program cost payment will be due before a student receives a housing assignment. Students planning to make their own housing arrangements are not required to complete the housing request section of the application or to pay a Security Deposit. They will also be required to make their own housing arrangements and will receive a relative reduction in the program cost. Since program costs may differ from school to school, students should contact SAI California for the exact reduction amount.
