GUIDELINES FOR ADMISSION TO INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS

To participate in the internship program, you must apply both terms.  When enrolling for more than one term, fees and deposits for ALL terms must be paid at the time of application.

Deadline: Spring term: October 15th - Summer: 90 days before the start of the term.

Application for a FUA internship does not mean automatic acceptance into the program.

All applicants must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA in their major and overall.

Candidates must meet with the academic prerequisites laid down for the Internship program for which they are applying. To be eligible they must produce proof of having successfully completed, either at FUA or at their home schools, the preliminary courses necessary and at the levels stipulated by FUA.

Candidates must have earned a minimum grade of B+ in all mid-term exams taken at FUA in the first semester of the program. For Italian Language a minimum grade of C+ at mid-term is required.

FUA places great importance on the commitment and personal integrity of Internship applicants. The interns will be effectively representing FUA in the professional workplace. It is for this reason  that the applicants must demonstrate an impeccable record of comportment, dedication, punctuality, maturity and motivation in the semester preceding the internship.

Once the necessary prerequisites have been established the candidate will submit a short personal essay (approx. 400-500 words ) outlining their reasons for applying for the internship program. There follows an interview with the FUA Internships Admission Panel during the first semester of attendance at FUA.

The final stage in the admission process is the interview with a senior representative of the studio or business where the work experience will take place during the first semester at FUA.

Placements are contingent upon the student’s past experience, language ability, objectives,  professional interests, and available opportunities in any given semester. Placements are diverse and students must be flexible about their assigned placements.
